HSS Rehabilitation Internship Program

HSS Rehabilitation provides a number of internship opportunities for individuals interested in the fields of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Performance/Wellness and Prosthetics/Orthotics. Internships are generally unpaid, full time and 10 weeks in length.

This internship program is primarily designed for individuals with minimal clinical experience. Students accepted for this internship will participate in projects and will have clinical observations in multiple areas of rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics, and performance and wellness. Internship projects will provide exposure to clinical care, research, education and/or administration functions of a clinical department. Interns will be responsible for presenting project results to the supervising team.

Interested applicants should submit:

  • Cover letter specifying your current level of education and what you would like to achieve during the internship
  • Curriculum vitae/resume indicating education, work and volunteer experience
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Personal statement answering the following questions in addition to highlighting your qualifications with a brief overview of your strengths and skills:
    Why are you interested in HSS and HSS Rehab?
    If applying to PT/OT/Speech school, have you completed your volunteer hours?
    Is this experience connected to a school course or requirement?
    What are you passionate about?
    What are your computer skills, and which software programs are you comfortable with?
    Do you have experience with research, literature searches or data entry? If so, have you taken the CITI Program exam for human subjects’ research?
