As a fit and healthy 39-year-old I have unfortunately suffered from lower back problems for a number of years. Previous flare ups of sciatic and pinching pain have been resolved with epidurals and steroid shots, but last year my symptoms were worse than ever. For nearly 4 months I had throbbing and pulsing pain comparable to electricity through my right leg (groin/knee/thigh) that would not stop unless I took strong NSAIDs. I was taking medication every 6 hours constantly for 4 months. I also had 3 MRIs and 3 pain shots in my back to no avail. That's when I saw Dr. McAnany. He performed a laminectomy and while my symptoms didn't subside for a couple of months, much to my dismay, I am now fully off all medication and totally pain-free, back in the gym and golfing just 4 months after surgery.

The doctor's consideration and manner was excellent. He clearly explained the procedure and his staff were overwhelmingly helpful and flexible with my pre- and post-op, during which I required emergency pain relief on multiple occasions.

I am truly so glad to be recovered. The mental stress of months and months of continual pain was debilitating and the physical pain at times excruciating.
