Three and a half months ago, Dr. Ameya Save performed a surgical repair of a torn tendon in my elbow. My situation was complicated because I am receiving treatment for cancer with a drug that impairs healing. The timing had to be precisely planned to allow me sufficient time off treatment before and after the surgery to ensure I would heal without complications while at the same time not compromising my cancer care. Dr. Save and his team ensured that my oncologist’s recommendations were incorporated into the surgical plan. He also worked closely with my occupational therapist to adjust my rehab protocol to ensure I was progressing in my recovery without any problems. Equally important, Dr. Save’s kind and gentle manner gave me confidence that I was in good hands. I have now regained most of my flexibility and strength, and my incision is barely detectable. I will always be grateful for his surgical expertise and his thoughtfulness in managing my care.
