About Dr. Gabriel

Dr Samy S. Gabriel is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Florida. He completed his spine surgery fellowship training through the Harvard Spine Fellowship after completing his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Gabriel earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Gabriel is committed to a patient-centered, conservative approach to care, viewing surgery as a treatment option only when necessary. He takes the time to help patients understand their condition by reviewing imaging studies, explaining diagnoses, and discussing both operative and nonoperative treatment options. He believes that physical therapy, mobility-focused stretching, and other nonsurgical therapies play an important role in managing many spine conditions and improving function and quality of life.

When surgery is indicated, Dr. Gabriel works closely with patients to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Recognizing that surgery is a significant decision, he strives to ensure that patients and their families feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gabriel is an active member of the North American Spine Society and is engaged in research aimed at advancing the field of spine surgery.
