We understand the complications involved in undergoing a procedure or treatment at a hospital and offer assistance with planning, logistics, communication and transportation. Our main campus facilities provide a wealth of comfort and amenities including family areas, free Wi-Fi, language and communication support, religious services and much more.
Our Family Atria for patients and visitors are located on each of our surgical and procedure floors. Each area is staffed by patient liaisons and volunteers who will greet you and are available throughout the day to answer your questions. We aim to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
When you arrive, please check in at our reception desk. If you are accompanying a patient and would like to leave the area, please leave a phone number with our liaison staff.

The Hospital provides free wireless Internet access (no password is required) in all patient rooms and family waiting areas, however HSS does not take responsibility for personal computers that patients and visitors bring into the Hospital. There are also computers in the 1st, 4th, and 9th Floor Patient Family Atriums available to patients and visitors. For the protection of our patients and families, streaming capabilities are not possible on HSSGuest WiFi.
Please ask for a complimentary Discount Card for patients and visitors which entitles you to a discount at participating local restaurants. They are available in all of the guest areas on the 1st, 4th, and 9th floors, as well as the 75th Street Special Procedures Unit. Our Volunteer operated Patient Library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 1:00pm. The Library Cart, which visits in-patient units, also offers magazines and books. Please ask your nurse if you would like any reading materials from the Patient Library or call 212.606.1227.
For patients and visitors who need overnight accommodations, Guest Suites at HSS offer comfortable lodging. Conveniently located directly across from the Hospital on East 71st Street between the FDR and York Avenue, Guest Suites at HSS units can be used prior to hospital admission and beyond hospital discharge. If needed, wheelchairs are readily available. HSS Guest Facilities are in close proximity to the New York Presbyterian-Cornell Medical Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Rockefeller University.

The Belaire Café located on the plaza level in the Belaire Building, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open Monday to Friday from 6:45am - 6:00pm to outpatients and visitors.
