I needed a knee replacement but, out of fear, I put it off for five years - ultimately making the condition in my right knee worse. My younger brother, who is the head of the cancer department at a hospital in the Bronx, recommended I see a specialist at HSS. Looking back, I absolutely made the right choice. From my very first appointment, Dr. Gausden made me feel comfortable and at ease. The way she explained everything helped eliminate my fears and reassured me that I was in excellent hands.

The surgery went smoothly with no complications. Recovery was painful at times, but I followed all the post-operative instructions, and it has made a difference. I’m now six months out and still in physical therapy. While I’m not yet at complete comfort, I continue to make steady progress.
