I have enormous gratitude for my surgeon, Dr. Jason Blevins, and all of the people at HSS who helped me successfully through total knee replacement surgery. Each person I met at HSS treated me with compassion and wonderfully skilled care.
Before surgery, I lived like a semi-invalid, unable to walk or stand much with constant pain caused by my arthritic knee, which bowed my leg. The thought of surgery and recovery was so daunting that I put off taking care of myself and I suffered for much too long.
It turned out that I am having a wonderful recovery and I now live without pain. Here is a photo taken 4 weeks after surgery, while I had the enormous pleasure of walking in the park for one mile! I am starting a new chapter of life.
