Managing a hospital well is probably the most complicated type of residential experience. While hotels are complex, they fall far short of the demands made on a hospital. The level of cleanliness is outstanding from the operating rooms to the bathroom and waiting rooms through the building. How they get such a helpful, friendly and accommodating staff at all levels is an attainment few other hospitals in the world can emulate.

I live in California and heard about HSS from a friend in New York. When I mentioned I was going to a northern California hospital for a joint replacement she stated in her ever-present demurring way, “Are you nuts? HSS is the best hospital and is in New York!” She is right. The people at HSS are committed to first class health care, and it shows.

Therefore, if you have any uncertainty as to where to go for replacement of joints, I heartily endorse the excellent HSS maintenance staff, nurses, physicians, office staff, nutritionists or anyone else I forgot.
