A rollerblading accident while playing with my children left me with a rotator cuff tear. After numerous surgeries in Knoxville, my surgeon finally told me, "We just can't fix this here. It actually needs to be replaced. You need a lot of specially trained physicians and a facility equipped for difficult cases. I am a nurse anesthetist so I searched the databases for the highest volume, lowest complication and infection rate. I called Dr. Dines' office, mailed him my reports and a week later, I was on a plane to New York. My shoulder is the envy of every long suffering shoulder patient south of the Mason-Dixon. I am so grateful for the pain relief as well as returning to full strength, playing tennis, and traveling. I can even lift my own carry on bag to the overhead bin!!! I believe that I will stay off the roller blades, however!
