In the spring of 2013, my left shoulder was very painful 24/7 and I could not find a arm position that didn't hurt when performing activities of daily living! I sought 4 very confusing opinions from orthopedic surgeons in Westchester County, NY. Finally, my cousin suggested getting a self-referred consult at HSS. I looked up Dr. Edward Craig in the Castle Connelly Top Doctors publication, was impressed with his credentials, and called for an appointment. At my initial appointment, Dr. Craig took a good two or so hours to evaluate if I'd be a good candidate for total shoulder replacement, which I was. The shoulder was a total mess internally!

I had the surgery in October of 2013, and everything went very well. I did EVERYTHING that Dr. Craig asked of me during rehab and now, almost two years later, I have 99.9% range of motion restored without pain! I am so grateful to Dr. Craig for doing this surgery and allowing me to return to an excellent quality of life because of it!
