After years of unremitting pain in my knees for which no topical applications, NSAIDS, cortisone and gel injections alleviated, I made an appointment with Dr. Russell Windsor at HSS for an evaluation. X-rays revealed that I was bone-on-bone in both knees which was the cause of the pain and leg distortion. Dr. Windsor recommended a bi-lateral knee replacement, which was performed at HSS on January 4, 2014. I was walking from day 1, discharged from the hospital four days later and transferred to a rehabilitation facility for 10 days. I was able to walk, climb stairs and exercise 14 days post op! I am so glad I made the decision to go to HSS. I have no pain! I can walk, bike, exercise and dance with no pain. I have full range of motion and no longer have to worry when I travel that I may not be able to keep up the pace. I am grateful that I made the choice to have my surgery at HSS by Dr. Windsor, who in my opinion, is best of the best.
