Anika Vorndamme-Cajigal

On August 17th, 2013 I was hit by a motor vehicle on a parking lot. I was a pedestrian and 6 months pregnant at the time.

Because of the nature of my injuries (acetabular fracture, fractured pelvis, etc.) and the fact that I was pregnant (surgery, etc. had to be performed with me being awake), I was transferred to HSS, where I received excellent care through Dr. Helfet's team.

While the road to recovery was long and continues on, I could not have asked for a better surgeon and a better hospital. Every single person involved in my recovery (and care of my then unborn baby) was amazing and it is thanks to them that my pain is kept under control and that I am walking again today.
