Patient Case History: Robert

Femur nonunion with deformity and shortening treated with a Blade plate

Pre-Op

Patient Surgeon: S. Robert Rozbruch
Robert is a 50 year old attorney who after a ski accident sustained a proximal femur fracture. After 3 unsuccessful attempts at repair, he was left with pain, shortening, and a bad limp from a recalcitrant nonunion.

Post-Op

After a careful plan, the hardware was removed and the nonunion was repaired and the deformity and LLD were corrected with a blade plate. An internal bone stimulator was added to enhance healing potential.

Follow-Up

Bony healing in excellent position. Recovered with excellent function. He has returned to his busy and active lifestyle.
