Young Athlete Center: Rehab and Performance Training

Young Athlete Expertise 

The Young Athlete Center is home to a team of experts with advanced training and certifications to address the unique needs of athletes age 21 and under. We also offer one-on-one training with an exercise physiologists to assist with: 

  • Return to sports after an injury 
  • Performance improvement  
  • Injury prevention services  

The Young Athlete Center is located in the HSS Pediatric Rehabilitation & Young Athlete Center on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. This spacious, cutting-edge facility offers state-of-the-art technologies such as markerless motion analysis, an anti-gravity treadmill, practice turf, pneumatic resistance training equipment, sports netting and a fully equipped gym offering a comprehensive array of strength, conditioning and balance equipment. 

Youth-Focused Expertise 

Our staff offer focused expertise in caring for children and young adults with any condition or injury that may affect their sports participation. We also work closely with all members of your child’s care team, including orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, pediatricians, and physiatrists, to achieve the best possible outcomes. We understand that helping young athletes stay healthy isn’t just about treating their physical condition. It’s keeping kids motivated, engaged, and helping to coordinate the involvement of parents and coaches in recovery and injury prevention. 

In addition to caring for the young athlete, we also offer therapeutic services to children at all levels of activity and patients with primary orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions such as poor posture, back pain, scoliosis, sprains, strains and fractures, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and many more.   

Who We Treat 

Your child can receive care from one of our therapists even if they have not been seen by a physician at HSS. All patients will need a prescription from a doctor, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
