Mathew Welch, MS, CSCS, ATC, USAW-1

Exercise Physiology


Mathew Welch is an exercise physiologist at HSS. He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Sacred Heart University, where he graduated top of his class. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the BOC, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach (USAW-L1) and a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms).

Mathew has designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for professional athletes, weekend warriors, active adults and youth athletes across the entire sports medicine-sports performance spectrum. He has helped every one of these individual’s overcome injuries, eliminate pain, prioritize training goals and improve both physical and mental performance. Mathew believes in a collaborative approach to training with every client to keep them moving forward in the pursuit of progress towards their goals.
