Jason Machowsky is a board certified sports dietitian, registered clinical exercise physiologist, certified strength and conditioning specialist and wellness coach at Hospital for Special Surgery. He has appointments available at the Tisch Sports Performance Center, Orthopedic Physical Therapy Center, and HSS Rehabilitation Paramus.
He serves our nation’s athletes as an active member of the United States Olympic Committee Sports Dietitian Registry. He is also a past President of the Greater New York Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Jason has presented on nutrition for endurance athletes and athletic recovery regionally and nationally including events for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American College of Sports Medicine, and the NYC Marathon Expo. In addition, he was a selected reviewer for the “Nutrition and Rehabilitation” section of the Sports Nutrition Care Manual published by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Jason served as an Instructor of the Sports Nutrition Practicum at his alma mater, Teachers College at Columbia University, where he received his Masters of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Nutrition.
Through the relationship between HSS and the New York Road Runners (NYRR), Jason has provided support for races throughout New York including the TCS New York City Marathon and United Airlines NYC Half. He also writes blog posts for their Ask the Experts column.
