Aaron Karp is an exercise physiologist with Hospital for Special Surgery’s Tisch Sports Performance Center. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Texas A&M with a master’s in Athletic Training. In addition to his education, Aaron is nationally certified as both an Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
After spending several years in the athletic training room, Aaron brings his experience back to performance with a keen eye for muscle imbalance and biomechanical deficiencies. Using a functional approach, an individual’s movement patterns will be considered and modified to improve performance while lowering overall risk of injury. The primary goal in Aaron’s programing is to return an individual to the activities they enjoy most. While Aaron has special interests in rowing, cycling, and outdoor adventure sports, he has worked with individuals encompassing a broad range of fitness levels, injury histories, sports and recreation. Additionally, in conjunction with the HSS Concussion Clinic, Aaron specializes in managing return to exercise protocols for individuals who have suffered a concussion.
