Pamela Geisel, MS, CSCS, CPT is an exercise physiologist and the manager at Hospital for Special Surgery’s Tisch Sports Performance Center. She graduated with honors from Towson University with a bachelor’s in exercise science and received her master’s in exercise physiology from Adelphi University. She is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a NASM certified personal trainer.
Geisel has been in the fitness field since 2007 and has gained knowledge and experience in a variety of settings including corporate wellness, commercial fitness, personal training, and physical therapy. She shares her expertise as a contributing author and presenter for nationally recognized organizations and publications. As a long distance runner herself, she has a special interest in using strength training to maximize performance and reduce injury for runners. In an effort to influence the running community, she created the 4 week program RunFIT, which is held at the Tisch Sports Performance Center.
Through the relationship between HSS and the New York Road Runners (NYRR), Pam has provided support for races throughout New York including the TCS New York City Marathon and United Airlines NYC Half. She also writes blog posts for their Ask the Experts column.
