Each winter, Hospital for Special Surgery and the Ranawat Orthopaedic Research Foundation co-sponsor the three-day Ranawat Orthopaedic Conference (ROC), titled “Advances & Techniques in Joint Replacement Surgery and Arthroscopy." Led by HSS faculty as well as professors and surgeons from renowned institutions in India, the annual event brings together orthopaedic surgeons, fellows, residents, physical therapists, and other orthopaedic professionals from India to advance their knowledge and skills. ROC meetings are livestreamed and recorded via HSS eAcademy® for audiences to view around the world.
The 18th Winter Meeting of ROC, held in January 2020 in Mumbai, India, drew more than 800 orthopaedic surgeons and healthcare professionals and was livestreamed to an audience of more than 7,200 healthcare professionals worldwide. The conference focused on pain management, new implant designs and materials, and the latest approaches to integrate technology into joint replacement surgery. In addition to covering cementless total knee replacement and unicondylar knee replacement, the meeting highlighted recent advances in arthroscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and computerized navigation.
