Pharmacy Services
In order to facilitate your care during your stay at Hospital for Special Surgery, we respectfully request upon admission you leave your medications at home. In the event you are on a medication that the Hospital does not carry, an HSS pharmacist will call you with instructions.
Please leave all narcotic controlled substance medications at home (i.e. Ambien, Percocet, Kadian, Valium, etc.). The Hospital must strictly enforce this policy to be in compliance with the New York State Department of Health regulations. If you have any questions or need to make special arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact the Pharmacy Department at 212.606.1371 or 212.606.1372.
If you were recently discharged from the hospital and left without your medication – please call the pharmacy at 212.606.1371 or 212.606.1372 to arrange pick up. All abandoned medications will be discarded 30 days after discharge.
