Strong Fitness Magazine created a comprehensive guide on which over-the-counter medications to take for specific types of pain.
HSS primary care sports medicine physician Daphne A. Scott, MD recommended for general pain "alternating acetaminophen with ibuprofen." She added, "switch one to the other and repeat until your symptoms have subsided."
