Fitness Magazine—June 23, 2015
Fitness Magazine's K. Aleisha Fetters writes that four out of five people endure lower-back pain that can last for as little as a few days or even up to a few years.
Hospital for Special Surgery's Jennifer Solomon, MD, a board physiatrist noted in the article that, exercise mishaps, muscle strains, postural changes during pregnancy, and bulging or herniated discs (which, when they haven't run amok, cushion the spine's vertebrae) are all common culprits. Dr. Solomon also notes that with exercise and lifestyle changes lower-back pain can improve tremendously.
