Student-athletes learn at Giants training center

NorthJersey.com reports that New York Giants, USA Football, and HSS hosted a seminar on football injury prevention and sports nutrition for student-athletes.

Present at the seminar was HSS sports orthopedic surgeon Samuel A. Taylor, MD, who discussed common sports injuries and how to prevent them. Jamie Osmak, performance coordinator, and Dana Pitman, clinical nutrionist, were also present.

Pitman spoke on sports nutrition and importance of protein. "This will help muscles kick-start regrowth of muscle tissue allowing the athlete to rebuild what they have just broken down," she said.
