Ryan Fitzpatrick's status very much up in the air

MetroNewYork reports that New York Jets' Ryan Fitzpatrick recently experienced a torn ligament in his left thumb. HSS orthopedic surgeon, Michelle G. Carlson, MD, who specializes in sports-related hand injuries commented on Fitzpatrick's injury and his potential recovery time.

"Most ligaments take six weeks to three months to heal completely but often players can return before then with the thumb protected in a splint," Dr. Carlson told Metro.
