Local 15 Today reports that the care-free comfort of wearing flip flops can come at a big price. According to the article, 25,000 people ended up in the emergency room from flip flop related injuries.
Hospital for Special Surgery's sports medicine physician, Jordan D. Metzl, MD, contributes to the story: "Your feet roll in. That can put too much pressure on your tendons, sometimes on your bones and can cause overuse injuries."
