Rheumatoid Arthritis and Your Sex Life

Camille Noe Pagan, a writer for WebMD, reports that intimacy can be greatly affected by symptoms related to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including pain during intercourse and low sex drive.

Julia M. Kim, PhD, a psychologist at Hospital for Special Surgery, suggests that intimacy should remain a priority for couples who are living with RA. "It can improve the overall quality of your life and help take your mind off of your RA." Dr. Kim also notes that "it's good to be clear about how you're feeling and what you're experiencing, even if it seems obvious to you."
