We are making tremendous progress on the construction of the new HSS Kellen Tower, and we apologize for the noise and any other inconveniences as we undergo this transformation. Unfortunately, much of the work must be conducted at night due to the need to close portions of the FDR Drive. To meet the growing demand for our unmatched musculoskeletal care, HSS is investing in new facilities and enhancements to our Upper East Side campus, as well as in beautifying the neighborhood. At the heart of this plan is construction of the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Tower, a new medical tower rising above the FDR Drive that will adjoin our current Main Hospital facility. This work has necessitated the temporary closure of the East River Esplanade between 71st and 78th Streets. This will allow for the completion of foundation work and the installation of a work platform over the FDR Drive as well as critically needed improvements to the Esplanade in coordination with city agencies and our partners in the community.
