Patient Case History: Natalie

Natalie was born with Congenital Pseudoarthrosis of the Tibia. Despite multiple surgeries, she had a short, unstable leg and an abnormal gait. X-rays showed deformity, nonunion, and shortening of the tibia above the ankle.

At the initial surgery, the rod was removed and the nonunion was repaired. This was stabilized with a TSF frame. However the leg was still short. The tibia was lengthened by 2 inches at a proximal tibia osteotomy site.

With equal leg lengths and a healed tibia, Natalie walks much better.
