Melanie Aponte

I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis in 2017 after experiencing months of autoimmune disease symptoms, though at the time did not realize how serious it was (hindsight is 20/20). After being admitted to HSS, I was seen by various doctors over the course of the month I was admitted there where I ultimately got my diagnosis. Dr. Lakin was a resident at the time, and has stuck with me since then. From the start, she has provided excellent care both in and out of the office. She is so kind and intelligent and an expert in her field. Eight years later, I am in her care and feel back to normal. I truly could not recommend her enough.
