Having lived with scoliosis my entire life, I am no stranger to back pain. My condition was diagnosed too late to really do anything about it when I was young. I always made sure that I exercised and kept myself in great shape, as I never wanted to appear impaired. I am an avid hiker and golfer, and just extremely active in general.

In mid-2023, I started having terrible pain and was having trouble walking. I went to see Dr. Kim, and after looking at my x-ray he said I was in big trouble and basically needed a total spinal fusion, and he said that if I didn't have the operation relatively soon, that he might not even be able to help me. When I looked at the x-ray, I was in total shock. My spine had deteriorated so much, I couldn't believe it!

I scheduled my surgery for September 28th, 2023. I was petrified. It was a huge operation, but I trusted Dr. Kim! The recovery was long and difficult, but I was determined to get back into shape again, and I worked hard!

I am happy to share that I just returned from a 5 day hiking trip through the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, where I hiked high altitudes for 8-10 miles each day! It is a true miracle, and I am so blessed to have found Dr. Kim. I am forever grateful!
