Since 2023, I have suffered with sciatic nerve issues radiating down both legs - left and right. Things became very severe in early 2025 when, at the tender age of 87, I was losing balance from weakness in the legs which was a condition, needless to say, alarming. I informed Dr. Rawlins of my situation and followed his recommendation to immediately come into HSS for x-rays and an MRI. Afterwards in consultation with Dr. Rawlins and his associate, Dr. Owusu-Sarpong, I elected lumbar dissection surgery of vertebrae L3-L5 at the hands of Dr. Owusu-Sarpong. Now, for the life of me, I cannot understand why I waited 2 years to obtain the instant relief of my suffering that I had been experiencing. In addition, after "laying low" for six weeks of post-op recovery, I am now regularly playing the best golf of my senior years I have ever played (putting still needs a little work though - but I doubt the staff of HSS can help me with that). This HSS surgical team is, in my opinion, the best in the world. I would not hesitate, whatsoever in recommending them to anyone seeking surgical relief for severe sciatic maladies.
