As a lifelong runner, skier and bike rider, when I hit age 64 I needed a new knee. I got as much milage as I could out of physical therapy, then turned to HSS for its excellent care. I chose to consult with Dr. Debbi because of his expertise; after I met him, I chose to have my surgery with him because of his caring and thoughtful bedside manner. I am so glad I did.

Dr. Debbi is a wonderful surgeon and person. He combines all the qualities you could ask for in a doctor: top-notch training, incredible skill, and a deeply caring attitude. His entire office staff reflects these values and makes you feel they are rooting for the patient. To top it off, he has not only an MD but also a PhD in robotics that make him an expert in the newest and best techniques of joint surgery. As a physician myself, I know how important these qualities are in a doctor.

I had heard recovery from knee replacement surgery is a steep road. Dr. Debbi's team did a super job keeping me comfortable, and the physical therapy made me strong enough by week three that I was walking better than before the procedure. By week six I am enjoying biking in Central Park again! I am very glad I chose Dr. Debbi to give me my new knee. I would go to him again in a heartbeat, and enthusiastically recommend him to my own family and friends.
