I was a very active person athletically and professionally. I loved to run, hike, and ski. I have been an oncology nurse for 25 years, which requires me to be on my feet for long 12 hour shifts. I knew the pain in my knees was steadily becoming severe over the past 6 years. All the previous interventions were no longer effective. The pain kept me away from all of the activities in my life that I loved. When I met Dr. Haas at HSS, I knew he would change my life. I told him I had met the love of my life and needed to be pain-free when I walked down the aisle in September. He was compassionate and confident we would achieve that goal. In the past six months, I have had both knees replaced at HSS with Dr. Haas. I am amazed how it has changed every aspect of my life. Just working, taking walks, and living everyday pain-free is the greatest gift. The HSS staff goes above and beyond. My physical therapists were patient, instilled strength and confidence in me that I had somehow lost along the way. Dr. Haas and his team were amazing, and I would recommend HSS to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery. I can't wait to walk down the aisle pain-free!
