I was sixteen years old when Dr. Blanco performed scoliosis surgery on my 54 degree lumbar and 27 degree thoracic curve. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Blanco, all the doctors, nurses, and physical therapists that were a part of my surgery and recovery. Everyone I met at Hospital for Special Surgery was compassionate, dedicated, and intelligent. It has been four months since my surgery and I feel amazing which is better than I ever anticipated. I am a high school softball player and was able to start back to light training just three months after my surgery. For someone who spent seven years dreading and worrying about this inevitable surgery as my curve continually progressed, this experience has left me relieved both mentally and physically. I am really thankful that my parents decided on HSS for this procedure and for choosing Dr. Blanco. I would highly recommend HSS for any orthopedic procedure, and especially Dr. Blanco and his outstanding team for pediatric scoliosis care. I can honestly say that I am Back in the Game!
