Claudia Krowka

My daughter, Claudia, was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was 10 years old. We met with Dr. Blanco at HSS and he started monitoring her scoliosis. At the age of 16 her curve had reached about 54 degrees and she started experiencing great amounts of pain. We decided on corrective surgery for my daughter in July of 2014, when she was 17. Dr. Blanco was honest and patient with our family. He was also very clear about the plan of care for my daughter and what was to be expected. Dr. Blanco remained tentative and active in Claudia's recovery, immediately thereafter as well as throughout the year. I can confidently say that surgery proved to be a great decision for my daughter and her well being. The quality of her life has tremendously improved. She no longer has a painful spinal curve and, in addition, has gained so much strength and balance. I am thankful for Dr. Blanco and the HSS team, and I recommend them to anyone with orthopedic needs.
