Amanda Pupino, NP

Amanda Pupino is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City working alongside numerous surgeons in the Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement (ARJR) Service.  Amanda's current role allows her to focus on the postoperative care of patients who have undergone hip and knee joint replacement or repair procedures. She works to ensure better patient outcomes and increased patient satisfaction utilizing a tailored patient-specific approach to recovery and collaboration between all disciplines. Her previous roles at the hospital have included more than six years as a registered nurse on the seventh-floor inpatient unit and one year spent as a volunteer.  Amanda has been formally recognized by her peers for excellent patient care and remains committed to ensuring an excellent workplace through her membership on the Employee Engagement Committee.

Amanda is a member of both national and local professional organizations including The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), The Nurse Practitioner Association New York State (The NPA), and the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON).

Amanda completed her BSN at Downstate Medical Center and her MSN at Hunter College. In addition, Amanda previously earned a double major BS in Marketing and Logistics, Transportation, and Supply Chain Management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.  Amanda is board- certified as a primary care Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  Amanda has also earned her orthopedic nurse certification (ONC) through the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON).

Amanda is an avid world traveler and believes that travel is one of the best ways to learn about different cultures and expand your mind in ways that cannot be accomplished through other means. She is also a ferocious reader, both fiction and non-fiction, and considers herself a lifelong learner.  In her spare time, she can be found spending quality time with family and friends exploring her hometown of New York City or relaxing at the beach on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
