HSS is thrilled to welcome 13-year-old Nicholas Vicinanza as Guest Ringmaster for the 8th Annual Big Apple Circus Benefit.
Born with cerebral palsy, Nicholas found it challenging to balance, ride a bike, and run around with his peers at school. When his parents heard about the expert musculoskeletal care at HSS, they brought Nicholas in to see Dr. David Scher, Associate Attending Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. After being treated by Dr. Scher, Nicholas can now walk straighter and taller, and even recently joined his school’s basketball team and ran a 5K race in 33 minutes. Nicholas lives in Suffolk County with his parents and his twin sister, Julia.
