Dr. Chan graduated from medical school in the Philippines fully convinced that she wanted to become a rheumatologist. She worked towards that goal, finishing her internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut and her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
Before moving to New York City, she spent seven years in private practice in Rhode Island and was Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown University, where she saw a broad range of patients with rheumatic conditions. She has a particular clinical interest in inflammatory arthritis, inflammatory eye disease, and SAPHO syndrome. Her research interest is in the rheumatic complications of the immunotherapy of cancer.
