Orthopedics This Week reports that Hospital for Special Surgery and Major League Soccer hosted the 2017 MLS Medical Symposium in Manhattan Beach, California, which brought together top sports medicine specialists to discuss managing athletic injuries specifically in soccer players.

"We are learning that the research does not support that artificial surfaces (such as turf) does not increase the players’ risk of injury which is contradictory to what the players think and feel," said Patrick Vignona PT, MSPT, SCS, Cert MDT, one of the presenters.
