A strategic and optimal approach to weight loss
Losing weight, and keeping it off, can be extremely challenging. Most people know how hard it is to lose weight and how easy it is to gain. It can be even more difficult for people who have pain or stiffness that limits their movement. At the same time, maintaining a healthy weight is especially important for people with musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or gout.
At HSS, we want to help you achieve weight loss so that you can live every day feeling healthier, and so you can keep moving. In the past, you may have tried different diets or exercise programs to lose weight. At HSS, we offer a novel approach to weight loss, in a medically supervised format. We understand that weight is a complex issue with several factors at play. Genetics, medications, and certain medical conditions such as diabetes and sleep disorders are examples of elements that can contribute to weight gain that are out of your control. We understand the challenges of losing weight on your own. That’s why we are here to support you along the way.
If you are being referred by your surgeon for weight loss prior to an operation, we will work alongside you and your surgeon to get you to surgery as quickly as possible. We will focus on helping you get into a healthier state before surgery, so as to set you up for success after the procedure.
