Dr. Andrew Kaszewski provides support at all levels of a research project, from conception to manuscript preparation and conference dissemination. His work deals with basic science research into the kinematic, kinetic and muscular underpinnings of dynamic human movement. Current and past collaborations have looked at movements of all types including walking, running, throwing, kicking, and jumping.
He is currently interested in efficient computational approaches to muscle wrapping and their application to improving musculoskeletal models. To improve our understanding and clinical management of pathological conditions (e.g. cerebral palsy) prediction models must also improve, and one area in particular is muscle wrapping.
He also seeks to better understand the gap in knowledge required for lay end-users of advanced musculoskeletal simulation software, and also factors that affect the learning curve. He believes in making sophisticated simulation software more accessible to a broader audience.
