Pediatric Occupational Therapy

About Lorene C. Janowski

Lorene is board certified in pediatrics by the American Occupational Therapy Association and is Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) certified. Additionally, she is SOS trained and is a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner. She specializes in aquatic therapy as an adjunct to land-based therapy services. Her true dedication is found working with children and their families to improve their overall quality of life and independence particularly children with developmental delays, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, and sensory integration dysfunction.

She is an adjunct professor at NYU’s Occupational Therapy department teaching master level students the fundamentals of pediatric practice. She also works in the HSS Department of Neurology, focusing on adult neuro-rehabilitation specifically patients with ALS, and has collaborated with one of the lead hand surgeons for surgical intervention for children with hemiparesis which cerebral palsy.

 Lorene has collaborated internationally with the Children of China Pediatric Foundation educating therapists in a Chinese orphanage. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton and holds a clinical doctorate in Occupational Therapy from New York University.
