The journey that has brought me here has been incredible – I could not have started walking again with regular use of my ankle without his care, genius and supervision.” After a surfing injury in Malibu resulted in a trimalleolar fracture and the placement of an external fixator last fall, our patient and fashion consultant Roopal Patel (@roopal_patel) traveled to HSS, where orthopedic trauma surgeon Dr. David Helfet recommended ankle reconstruction surgery.
