About Dr. Vyas

Dr. Krina Vyas is an Assistant Attending Physiatrist at HSS specializing in the care of acute and chronic musculoskeletal, sports and spine conditions. She treats patients with spine (i.e. neck, back, buttock) pain as well as shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and foot/ankle pain and injuries. Dr. Vyas is a former tennis player and dancer and has an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of dancing injuries.

After a thorough evaluation, each patient is given a personalized plan which often includes an exercise-based treatment plan. Utilizing conservative measures, the goal is to help patients return to, and optimally perform at, their chosen activities while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. When procedures are indicated, Dr. Vyas is skilled in fluoroscopic-guided injections of the spine and peripheral joints, as well as ultrasound-guided injections for joint, tendon and muscle pathology, including platelet-rich plasma and hyaluronic acid.

After completing her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation/Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Vyas completed a subspecialty fellowship in Spine and Sports Medicine at HSS.

Dr. Vyas' research interests include evidence-based spine care, regenerative medicine techniques, injury prevention in athletes, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy for tendon pathology.
