The HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academic Visitor Program is designed for orthopaedic surgeons from Greece to observe surgical and clinical care, be exposed to best practices in orthopaedic surgery and experience the culture of excellence at HSS.
Participants will observe patient care and complex surgeries in state-of-the-art operating rooms; they will also participate in Grand Rounds, professional education programs, a visiting professional lecture series, and journal clubs, as available.
Two participants are selected for the spring session (April 1–May 31), and two participants are selected for the fall session (October 2–December 2).
HSS covers the cost of airfare and lodging for selected HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academic Visitor Program participants. Visitors are responsible for procuring their own visa.
Applicants must be:
Greek orthopaedic residents in their fourth or fifth year
Greek orthopaedic surgeons who are one to two years post-residency
All interested Greek surgeons must apply to attend the Academic Visitor Program. Please fill out the online Academic Visitor Program Application.
Applications will be reviewed by HSS faculty members of the HSS Stavros Niarchos Planning Committee. In addition, the committee may request a phone interview. Please have all materials including English translations of documents submitted through the application link above by the due date.
We are no longer accepting applications for the current program year. Information for 2018 opportunities will be posted at a later date.
