5 Ways Chiropractors Relieve Their Own Back Pain

Reporter Gabrielle Kassel reveals ways that chiropractors relieve their own back pain in a recent article for Women’s Health. She writes that about 31 million Americans experience lower back pain at any given time, according to the American Chiropractic Association. While they are many ways to treat back pain, chiropractors take a long-term approach to relieve the pain for good. She speaks to the professionals to see how they treat their own back pain when it arises.

"I go right for an adjustment because it offers the body an opportunity to realign, which frees up strains and pains in the soft tissues of the muscle, while giving your nervous system the ability to function free of impingement," said Christopher Anselmi, DC, chiropractor at the Integrative Care Center at HSS.

After an alignment, Dr. Anselmi recommended that patients should find a regimen that helps prevent future flare-ups.
