Woman who lost legs in landmine races in TCS NYC Marathon

WABC—November 7, 2016

As part of their marathon coverage, WABC interviews Ibadete Thaqi, an acute care research coordinator at HSS. Ibadete lost both legs when she was 13 in Kosovo and now is participating in the NYC Marathon in 2016.

"I can't run so this is one thing that I can do, so why not," said Ibadete who is using the hand cycle.

"I'm doing this because I really want to know what it feels like to be part of a bigger group and feel like I need to achieve this just for myself," added Ibadete.
