WFAN host Ed Randall interviewed Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, director of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle service at HSS, on his book "Dinner with DiMaggio: Memories of An American Hero."

According to the segment, Dr. Positano treated Joe DiMaggio for a heel injury in 1990.

"One of the beautiful things that we have at Hospital for Special Surgery is that we have a non-surgical foot and ankle division that pretty much deals with DiMaggio-type problems before they become bigger problems," said Dr. Positano.

Describing their friendship, Dr. Positano noted that "Joe was really a person that liked to take care of the players which is why it was so important to listen to his perspective on things."
