Rheumatology Advisor—November 1, 2016
Rheumatology Advisor interviewed Mary K. Crow, MD, physician-in-chief and chair of Rheumatology at HSS, to discuss presentations at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) annual conference.
In the video interview, Dr. Crow notes "the meeting will be focused on what has been termed immunometabolism. This means that we can study lymphocytes and immune system cells not only with regard to their production of inflammatory mediators and cytokines, but also their metabolism—how they use energy and how the use of that energy affects their function. There has been considerable interest in this area not only to understand the mechanisms of disease but also to gain new insights into potential therapeutic targets."
