Try this 6-minute workout for total-body strength

Today hosted HSS primary care sports medicine physician Jordan D. Metzl, MD, live on-air to share his new training program, a 6-minute total body workout.

During the segment, Dr. Metzl and Today hosts demonstrated the six exercises in the regimen: squats, forearm planks, overhead push presses, lunges, mountain climbers and burpees.

Dr. Metzl explained that the workouts help alleviate joint pain and strengthen muscles.

"You want people to get out there and move every single day. We think that exercise is the best preventive medicine," said Dr. Metzl.
